Inside Our Mold Workshop: Why We Make Our Own Molds and Outsoles
For most footwear buyers, the mold is where a project gets slow or expensive: it is outsourced, quoted separately, and hard to change once it is cut. We do it differently. Our Solemakers workshop develops molds and produces outsoles in-house, in the same Dongguan base where our finished shoes are made.
That changes three things for a distributor.
First, development stays in one conversation. When you send a design, a tech pack, or a reference sample, the team that will cut the mold is the team that will make the shoe. Questions about shape, thickness, or material get answered on the workshop floor, not through a chain of suppliers.
Second, tooling costs are transparent. The mold is ours, and it stays with us. There is no second party charging rent on it order after order, and your repeat orders are made from the same mold — so the fit and look you approved the first time is the fit and look you get the second time.
Third, the same workshop serves more than footwear. Alongside outsoles in EVA, rubber, TPR, and phylon, we mold parts to customer drawings or samples: ladder covers, chair parts, casters, and other injection-molded products. If your range ever extends beyond shoes, the capability is already in place.
Our first-order MOQ is 1,000 pairs or pieces, and 600 on repeat orders. Pricing is ex-factory, by material and specification. Private label and custom packaging are available.
